Farm and Cheese

Can Xicoy is the name of the property located in the town of Arenys de Munt at the base of Montnegre.

We have a farm with 400 milking goats that provide the bases for our cheese which is made from raw milk. Every day after milking the goats are free to roam, sunbathe and enjoy grazing on fresh oak, arbutus and heather.

On our farm there are different pens to separate the goats according to the different states of production: replacement, pregnant, in production and pens for babys.

After milking the goats, the milk goes directly into cooling tanks located under the milking facility. Then it is placed into the attached cheese room. This way we are able to manage the cheese production process in on building.
Over the past few years, we have been working hard to improve the areas for animals, such as fields and pastures. More recently we have focused all our efforts on building the formatgeria to produce delicious artisanal cheeses.
